Cupcake Polish Swatches & Reviews

After months of seein’ Cupcake Polish pics on the ol’ Instawebs, I finally decided to wipe the drool off’a my phone & place an order. The only thing I have to say is… what the hhhhhhhelllll took me so long to get on the damn bus?!

*glances over at her 27 Jolie Polish bottles*

Oh. Yeah. THAT’S where all of my monies have run off to lately.

Anyboobs…swatch pics, nail art & macros after the jump. So let’s grab a beer & chat.

My three new babies are Berry Good Looking (BGL from here on out), Blood Hound (BH) & Bat-chelor Pad. BGL & BH were the two Cupcakes that literally made my eyeballs fly outta my head all cartoon-style every time I’d see em. So duh, I *had* to get those. And since I’m an absolute whore for blue & green polishes, Bat-chelor Pad was a no-brainer.

I dove right into BGL, as I typically swatch colors from lightest to darkest, but there’s really nothin’ “light” about BGL. ‘Cept for the light that coMES SHOOTIN’ OUTTA YER NAILS WHEN YER WEARIN’ IT CUZ HOLY SHIT LOOKIT THAT LIQUID HOLO SEX!

Seriously one’a the most gorgeous, sparkly polishes I’ve ever seen in my life. Ugh. It’s no wonder that BGL won Best Indie Brand Polish, Best Purple Polish *AND* Best Holographic Polish of 2015, as voted on by Peachy Polish readers. *hair flip*

After I filmed the vid swatch, I did actually calm down long enough to take “official” swatch pics, and of course, the mandatory macro. But this holo is sooo hard to capture in photos; it’s blinding…and it freaks out my camera.

But one rarely stops at a mere swatch. Oh, no, dear readers. One almost always gets one’s nail art hustle on. So I added a lil stamping with gold & rose gold stamping polishes from Jolie Polish, a clear stamper from Cosette Nail Shop & Born Pretty Store plate BPL-029.

This was the first time I had ever done layered stamping, and although it turned out beautifully, it’s hard to distinguish between the gold & rose gold polishes. I’ll try it again sometime on a different colored base polish.

After having all of the fun with BGL, I moved on to BH. Good grief, what a beauty. I love vampy colors & BH didn’t disappoint.

BH is a gorgeous plummy wine with that same show-stopping holo that BGL has. Absolutely stunning. Oh, and did I mention that BH was voted Best Red Polish of 2015 by Peachy Polish readers? You just snatch up all of the awards you wownt to, Cupcake! Go’head on, girl! *two snaps & a double hair flip*

I decided to pair it with Ellis, a pink-gray-lavender holo from Julep, and French tip vinyls from whatsupnails for a simple, elegant design.

It killed me to take off the BH/Ellis combo, but I was excited as hell to step into the Bat-chelor Pad. Lawwwd this blue! I died five times.

I dno what it is about this polish — set against my pale-ass skin, maybe? — but it practically *glows*. Straight flaaaames! #fiyah

Since I haven’t done a waterfall mani in eons, I decided to see what one would look like with the yummy, sparkly blue of Bat-chelor Pad.

Not even the kintillions of glitter stripes could steal BP’s thunder. Nope. Bat-chelor Pad said, “Not today, Satan.”

So that rounds out my swatches of & nail art designs featuring three of Cupcake Polish’s popular holos. If you haven’t tried Cupcake yet, please…for the love of everything holy…getcherself over to their site & pick up AT LEAST one. Thank me later. (I’ll accept a “thank you” gift in the form of the entire Unicorn Collection. Merci.)

See y’all next time!
